HISTORY OF CINNAMON AND OATMEAL FARM

Bordered by the beautiful Kettle Moraine, on over 45 acres, sits a little farm that dates back to the mid 1840's.  The  original barn structure is still standing.  The concrete silo and the stone foundation walls are all that remain.  The owners, Todd and Jackie Miller, hope to someday restore the barn.

The Millers have owned the farm since 1989.  The name, Cinnamon and Oatmeal, like all quaint and unusual names, has a tale to tell.  When Todd and Jackie were first dating, they went into a toy store, which carried the very popular at that time, stuffed bears.  Jackie took notice of two particular bears, and told Todd she would like them, he said no...at $50 each, they were a bit of an expense for them right then.  The bear's names were, Cinnamon and Oatmeal.  As the bear discussion continued for a time, the names became nicknames of Todd and Jackie.  He would be called Cinnamon and of course she would be called Oatmeal!

There are areas of interest dotting the farm such as the vintage piece of farm equipment shown above.  The old stove below is actually used by Todd and Jackie when they are working in this greenhouse, greenhouse #1, where all the planting begins!

Further out in the farm sits a small orchard of apple and pear trees.

Another area of interest, decorating this lovely farm!

The birds have to have a place too!

Their largest greenhouse, for housing the cold weather plants.

This is the main greenhouse where the seedlings are transferred to when big enough.

The flowers are in bloom, many to be planted in various places around the farm.  Do stop buy and say hello, and of course purchase some beautiful plants and flowers!  Click on the link in the menu at the top of the page to take you to the flowers page and see some of the beautiful flowers Todd and Jackie have available!  See you there!
